What do I do if someone is making me feel uncomfortable?

There may be times when someone is saying or sharing offensive, disgusting things or perhaps someone is making you feel uncomfortable, intimidated or threatened. None of this is OK and you should seek emergency help from an Alpha Wolf as soon as possible!
You will need to press the 🚨Alert an Alpha button. This will call the attention of the Alphas and they will come to help you!

If you are younger than 18, you should also tell a trusted adult about what happened. They are welcome to speak to an Alpha or a member of Luke Wolf® Staff on your behalf so we can do what we can to help. It is important to us that you feel safe being here.

How do I contact an Alpha Wolf when someone breaks The Den Rules?

Alphas and Luke Wolf® Staff do their best to enforce The Den Rules where possible to ensure the den is a safe and positive environment. However, it may not always be possible for them to catch everything that happens.

You can help out by reporting misbehaving wolves to Alphas. To do this, you will need to press the
🚨Alert an Alpha button. This is located in our Wolf Den discord server in the top left hand corner.

When contacting an Alpha, it is very important to tell us exactly what happened, who is involved, where it is happening, and if possible, share a link to a screenshot showing the problem.

Only use the Alert an Alpha button in a emergency. That is, if something is happening to make you feel unsafe or if you see behaviour that is breaking The Den Rules.

What is an Alpha?

A Den Moderator, also known as an Alpha Wolf, protects innocent wolves and fights the ‘bad guys’ – wolves who do not stick to The Den Rules. Alphas are one of the many ways we ensure The Den Rules are upheld, making the den a great place for everyone.

How do I identify an Alpha?

It depends on the platform, but you can typically recognise Alphas by their red names or Moderator badges (like the green sword badge on Twitch).

What training do Alphas get?

All Alphas are given the Alpha Handbook which outlines the Alpha Code of Conduct and moderation guidelines – a uniform approach to handling wolves. They also receive Alpha training in the Alpha Academy along with support and guidance from Luke Wolf® Staff. The Alphas operate as a team and communicate via special Alpha channels in the den.

What do Alphas do?

Alphas have several roles:

  • Discipline – If an Alpha sees a wolf breaking The Den Rules, he or she can use special Alpha tools to warn, mute or even ban the wolf.
  • Emergency Assistance – Alphas pick up emergency ‘Alpha Alerts’ and rush to the aid of wolves who need assistance.
  • Reporting – Alphas report to Luke Wolf® Staff anything out of the ordinary that could impact the den.
  • Hosting – Alphas make all wolves feel welcome by answering their questions and guiding them around the den.

Who are the Alphas?

To see a list of all of the Alphas, please see our About Alphas page.

How do I become an Alpha?

It is difficult to become an Alpha – there is a strict four-stage application process. If you apply, you will be notified if and when you pass the different stages.

  • Stage one – you fill out the online Alpha Wolf application form. We will look up things like your activity, how often you visit, what you have been doing in the den, how long you have been a wolf and if you have been getting into any kind of trouble. The precise criteria are a den secret.
  • Stage two – your reputation in the den. Are you friendly, responsible, willing to help out, free from prejudices? And most importantly do you know how the den works inside out?
  • Stage three – Alphas will come interview you and test you out to see if you really are Alpha material.
  • Stage four – if you pass the first three stages, you will be sent the official Alpha offer which will include the Alpha agreement. This agreement will include a secret pledge that will bind you to the Alpha Code of Conduct and purpose of the role. Once you have signed it and returned it via email, we will give you your Alpha badge!

Why haven't I been accepted as an Alpha?

There could be many reasons why you might have not been made into an Alpha – if you are a fairly new wolf, if you don’t visit very often, you may not know enough about the den, yet, or perhaps you have done something that is not keeping within The Den Rules.

All things considered, we do appreciate that you have taken the time to express your interest and put in the effort to try, which is why we always coach you if you are unsuccessful so you can learn what to do to become an Alpha Wolf. You should give yourself some time to improve and then please try again!
